On Friday, August 24, the Embassy hosted a reception to welcome the 2012 Fellows of the International Center for Journalists’ U.S.-Austrian Journalism Exchange Program. The center each year awards three to six outstanding media professionals from the United States and Austria the chance to report from and travel in each other's countries as part of the U.S.-Austrian Journalism Fellowships.
The program gives the fellows the opportunity to share professional expertise with their colleagues across the Atlantic while working as "foreign correspondents" for their hometown news organizations. This year Austrians Alexander Kofler and Sebastian Hofer will spend 6 weeks in the U.S. to experience the American media landscape.
