On May 13, the Austrian Minister of the Interior Johanna Mikl-Leitner arrived in Washington, D.C. for a multi-day bilateral visit. During her stay in the capital, Ms. Mikl-Leitner met, among others, with U.S. Secretary for Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Attorney General Eric Holder and Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sean Joyce. Her trip also included visits to the Terrorist Screening Center, the United States Holocaust Museum and the Police Academy in Virginia.

Prior to her visit to Washington, D.C., Minister Mikl-Leitner spoke at the U.N. General Assembly High Level Meeting on the Evaluation on the Plan of Action against Trafficking in Persons in New York. She also met with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Rabbi Arthur Schneier of the Park East Synagogue and the Director of the Anti-Defamation League Abraham Foxman.
