Austria Connect 2012

On Friday, September 14, the two-day annual conference Austria Connect took place in Washington D.C. This year, Austria Connect, which is organized by the Austrian Trade Commissions in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, brought together more than 120 people including US-based Executives of Austrian subsidiaries, U.S.-Representatives of Austrian companies and established providers of legal tax related logistics and other consultancy services to the US-Austrian Business Community. In light of the 2012 U.S. presidential elections, the main topical focus of this year’s conference was on the current U.S. politics and policy options. During the course of the event, the participants also gave short updates on their companies’ developments and shared their expertise. In the evening, there was an opportunity for networking and exchanges within the U.S.–Austrian business community. On Saturday, as part of the two-day conference, the Office of Science and Technology at the Austrian Embassy in Washington D.C. invited the participants to the 2012 Austrian Science Talk, an annual meeting of U.S.- and Canada-based Austrian scientists.
