The Vienna Philharmonic in California

Photo: Lorin MaazelOn January 1st, PBS again broadcast the world-famous New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. From February 25th to March 4th, 2011, the orchestra will tour California, starting with three performances at Zellerbach Hall at the University of California, Berkeley, presenting works of Schuman, Brahms, Mahler, Schubert, Wagner and Bartók. The following tour dates include Santa Barbara, Palm Dessert, Costa Mesa, and San Diego. Details can be found on the orchestra’s web site at www.wienerphilharmoniker.at.
