From October 20-21, 2013, a workshop focusing on regional economic development in Europe and the United States took place at the University of New Orleans (UNO). Participants of the event, which was sponsored by the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation and CenterAustria at UNO, included professors and officials from Austria, speakers from UNO and other U.S. universities and representatives of economic development groups. Former Ambassador Wolfgang Petritsch, a fellow at Harvard University and chairman of the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, and Ronald Hall, Directorate General for Regional & Urban Policy at the European Commission, were among the experts sharing their experiences.
