An Officer and an Auction

Sips with Socialites and the GI Film Festival held the fundraiser and bachelor auction An Officer and an Auction at the Embassy on January 31, 2013.

Guest included actor Scott Elrod, who recently starred in the Oscar-winning movie Argo and has military roots himself - he was born into a German military family.

While drinks and appetizers were served, guests could listen to the music of C*A*M*M*O*. Altogether, the auction raised over $ 7,000 for the GI Film Festival.

The GI Film Festival (GIFF) is a 501 c(3) non-profit educational organization dedicated to sharing the military experience in and out of the arena of war.  The festival is the first in the nation to exclusively celebrate the successes and sacrifices of the service member through the medium of film.
