Günter Bischof receives “Austrian Award for Science and the Arts, 1st class”

On October 25, 2012, Dr. Günter Bischof, Marshall Plan Professor of History and Director of Center Austria at the University of New Orleans, received the “Austrian Award for Science and the Arts, 1st class” from Dr. Karl-Heinz Toechterle, Austrian Minister of Science during a ceremony at the Ministry of Science in Vienna.

The award ceremony took place during the Annual Meeting of Austrian Centers in Vienna. Professor Arnold Suppan, Vice President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, delivered the laudatory speech introducing Bischof.
