Hans Kordik speaks at University of Minnesota

At the end of June, the Embassy's Counselor for Agriculture and Environment Hans Kordik travelled to Minnesota to give a lecture on Sustainable Water Policy and Environmental Innovations in Austria. Among other things Hans Kordik talked about challenges and impacts of the diverse water usages from agriculture, energy, to transport policy and highlighted the fact that Austria uses less than 4% of its fresh water resources and provides the highest drinking water quality in the world. In his presentation he also gave examples of the differences between EU-, national-, and regional laws to safeguard Austria’s water as well as waste water protection. The lecture and the discussion that followed took place as part of the University of Minnesota’s sustainability education program.
